Now We Know: The Denver Team Takes on #NYK

The 104 West Denver team spent two days with over 400 social insights leaders from the world’s largest brands and agencies at the Now You Know™ Denver Conference. We heard from a diverse group of the greatest minds in social, including professionals from AOL, Edelman, Twitter and Hootsuite, and each of us returned to the office with some very useful knowledge. Here are a few of our top takeaways:

An Intern's Perspective

The 104 West team had the opportunity to work with Amber Mckibben, our recent intern, over the last few months. Amber was an incredible asset to the team and really set the bar high for our next intern. Unafraid to ask questions and always eager to learn something new, Amber fit right in. Before she left us we sat down for a quick Q&A session. Interested in learning more about her experience at 104 West? Keep reading! Interested in interning here? Check out more details here.

CMO Days, Rock n’ Roll Nights: A Musician’s Journey From Bar Rooms To Board Rooms

Our client Reid Genauer, CMO of Magisto, traveled from San Francisco to share his story at the latest edition of the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association’s Food For Thought luncheon series in Denver, CO. And he does have a great story.

I began working with Walt Mossberg almost 25 years ago. Our first interactions left me somewhat puzzled on how to deal with him. Then, about 15 years ago, the power and influence of his writing and column was fully exhibited to me, and I understood.

The Next Frontier of Communications Programs

Understanding the communications landscape has helped us develop programs beyond traditional public relations. We’ve created a proprietary methodology, Content Delivery Optimization (CDO), that focuses on original content development. This comprehensive communications program ties public relations, marketing, social media and lead generation together.

Content and Media: The Growing Debate and Divide

It is almost hackneyed these days to lament the changes in contemporary newsrooms. Anyone working in PR, journalism or watching the news is witnessing a battle between traditional media and direct, social media. The President of the United States is on Twitter every morning and provides an ongoing case study in the efficacy of social media as a communication channel.
